Slide the manduca carrier to the preferred hip, slip your arm through the shoulder strap and bring the shoulder strap over your head to the opposite shoulder. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap to fit your size. Hold your child and place him/her on your free shoulder.

You can wash your manduca baby carrier or sling in the washing machine. We recommend you use the delicates programme at 30°C and with laundry detergent for delicates. Please close all buckles before washing and remove the hood from its pocket.
How do you adjust Manduca straps?
Pull baby into your body snuggly and reach under your arm. Tighten the bottom strap by pulling towards you. Repeat on both sides. Lastly tighten the straps next to babies head – only if necessary for small babies or petite frames.
How do you wear a structured baby carrier?
Always wear your baby with your carrier adjusted so that the fit is snug. There are spaces between the shoulder straps, shoulder strap connections and waist belt that, if your SSC is worn too loosely, can allow your baby to fall through. Always check your carrier to make sure it’s in good condition.
Can you use Manduca from birth?
The manduca baby carrier has an integrated seat reducer – or newborn insert, as many of you call the seat reducer. The big advantage is that you can use it to carry your baby from birth.
Can baby face forward in Manduca carrier?
The Manduca baby carrier is not designed to carry a baby in a “face forward” position. When placed in a facing forwards position, the baby is leaning forward in an unnatural position for his body, and not getting appropriate head support.
What should newborn wear in carrier?
Unless it’s bitterly cold outside, ideally keep newborn babies in ‘indoor’ clothing, adding a warm hat or elephant hood and booties if needed, plus a coat, cardigan or suitable hoodie over both of you. This will reduce the risk of baby overheating. (Always ensure there is no fabric covering your baby’s face.)
