How long does it take to recover from a Sinuplasty?
While recovery time varies from person to person, many people can return to normal activities (including work) within 24 to 48 hours following surgery. We do advise our patients to avoid strenuous activities or exercise that makes them feel strained (aerobics, jogging, exercising, swimming, contact sports, etc.)
Who needs sinuplasty?
You may require sinus surgery if:
- You have chronic sinusitis that isn’t responding to treatment.
- You have severe sinus polyps.
- There is an abnormality within the structure of the nose or sinus that requires repair (e.g. deviated septum)
- An infection has spread to the bone.
- Cancer is detected within the sinus cavity.
