Is it OK to eat weeds?
Many of the so-called “weeds” in your garden might actually be totally safe – and tasty! – to eat. Many of the so-called “weeds” you find in your yard or garden are actually edible – and quite delicious! Still, never eat a plant unless you are 100 percent sure of its identity.
Which weeds are safe to eat?
The list of weeds you can eat is far longer than one might imagine, see below for a taster of some surprisingly delicious ones.

Can you eat broadleaf weeds?
The broadleaf plantain weeds that you find in your yard can be eaten entirely, but the young leaves are the tastiest. Use these raw in any way you would spinach, such as in salads and sandwiches. You can even blanch the leaves and then freeze them to use later in soups and sauces.
Can you eat the purple weeds?
Violets are almost as hated as dandelions when it comes to lawn maintenance, but I think the native wildflower gets a bad rap.
